2026 Fair Housing Conference (FREE)

The 2026 Fair Housing Matters Virtual Conference will take place April 10, 2026 from 9AM - 2PM CT and will include 15 minute breaks between each session. CLE credits will be available for TN attorneys. We are also willing to assist attorneys licensed in other states with requesting CLE credit. Spoken language interpreters are available upon request, dependent on availability.

The sessions are as follows: 
9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.: Key Fair Housing Concepts (1 hour) Panel discussion of general information about the Fair Housing Act including protected classes, covered housing providers and more. Moderator: Portia Ray – Tennessee Fair Housing Council (TFHC) Speakers: Vanessa Bullock - West Tennessee Legal Services (WTLS), Martie Lafferty - Tennessee Fair Housing Council (TFHC), and Chenise Anthony - Fair Housing Council of Metropolitan Memphis (FHCMM)

10:15 a.m.-11:15 a.m.: The State of Fair Housing in 2026 (1 hour) Discussion of the current fair housing landscape. Speaker: Sasha Samberg-Champion - National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA)

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Educating the Next Generation about Fair Housing (1 hour) Discussion of the importance of educating ages 4-21 about fair housing and the methods by which Memphis’ youngest residents are educated on the Fair Housing Act. Speaker: Brittany Hart - FHCMM

12:45 p.m.-1:45 p.m.: Current Fair Housing Issues in Tennessee (1 hour) Panel discussion of current fair housing issues in Tennessee including those suggested by attendees prior to or during the session. Moderator: Portia Ray – TFHC Speakers: Garth Carson - WTLS, Martie Lafferty - TFHC, and Chenise Anthony - FHCMM
