The Executive's Guide to Challenges and Change

This three-part leadership workshop series is designed to help executive leaders accurately diagnose organizational issues, reframe complex challenges, and make sound decisions during times of transition. By shifting away from common pitfalls—like defaulting to personal blame or getting stuck in bureaucratic roadblocks—participants will learn to view their organizations through multiple analytical lenses.

Throughout the cohort, leaders will explore cognitive biases, structural design, human dynamics, power structures, and strategic frameworks necessary to lead sustainable change.

Series Schedule

Session 1: Diagnosing and Framing Organizational Problems

  • Date: Tuesday, March 23, 2027 from 9am-2pm
  • Core Focus: Learning to accurately identify and reframe organizational friction points outside of your typical perspective.
  • Topics Covered: Introduction to the Four Frames framework: Structural (factories), Human Resources (families), Political (jungles), and Symbolic (theater). Leaders will also examine the sources of organizational ambiguity and unpack the psychological heuristics, cognitive biases, and risk-aversion traps that skew executive judgment.

Session 2: Deep Dive into the Four Frames

  • Date: Wednesday, March 24, 2027 from 9am-2pm
  • Core Focus: Unpacking the structural, interpersonal, and cultural underpinnings of workplace productivity and design.
  • Topics Covered: An in-depth look at structural design choices, human resource management philosophies (Theory X versus Theory Y), employee engagement, and core social motivators. This session also addresses the tactical realities of the political frame—including coalition building, conflict styles, and power dynamics—alongside the symbolic importance of organizational culture, values, and executive sensemaking.

Session 3: Implementing and Navigating Strategic Change

  • Date: Thursday, March 25, 2027 from 9am-2pm
  • Core Focus: Mastering the execution of organizational transformation and leading people through change initiatives.
  • Topics Covered: Practical application of Kotter's Eight Steps to Effective Organizational Change and the Ladder of Inference. Participants will evaluate real-world design and management dynamics through specific frameworks, focusing on building psychological safety, conducting principled negotiations, and utilizing the Rider, the Elephant, and the Path model to guide, motivate, and sustain programmatic movements.
